What is Jakes?
What a privilege to stand alongside someone during the low points of life.
Jakes is a twice weekly programme aimed at those without a ‘home’ or even without a ‘roof’!
Food, friends, a warm and fun place to be and opportunities to develop are all part of a typical Jakes evening. The volunteer staff also ‘sign post’ to other agencies and organisations. Several other churches in the city do similar things on other nights, providing a network of care, hope and safety for vulnerable adults.
